Brain Biochemistry Post Mortem
- Ligand autoradiography
- In situ hybridization
- Functional genomics
Ligand autoradiography brain cryosections
biochemical analyses are performed using ligand autoradiography.
The main information that can be obtained is quantitative distribution
of neurotransmitter receptors and transporters. The resolution of
these images is approximately 50 micrometers in the horizontal plane.
These images are complementary to the in vivo images obtained in
PET (Positron Emission Tomography) and SPECT (Single Photon Emission
Tomography).
