The research at HUBIN
The
way Erik ended up working with HUBIN is that he had previously worked
with a couple of the initiators of the project. The research Erik
was working with also fit well into the concept of HUBIN.
Eriks
work at HUBIN involves a great deal of contact and interviews with
patients and their relatives, and also with the control patients
that participate in the studies. Another big part of the work is
to read patient journals and evaluate what has been said during
the interviews. Besides the interviews, samples are collected from
all patients and control individuals. Blood samples are drawn, which
are then used for measurements of the levels of various substances
in the blood. DNA is also extracted from the blood, which is then
used in the genetic analyses.
