A final word
As
a summary to what it is like to work with psychology and psychiatry,
Håkan wants to say the following:
Psychology is a topic that everybody
has an opinion about. It is something that concerns our existence.
This can in many cases be rewarding, but is also a challenge. A
lot of people think what you say is obvious, whereas other things
are really controversial. Especially in neuropsychology it can be
tricky. Like for example the fact that it sometimes seems like the
genes control everything. And if you are at a genetic risk, is everything
ruined then?
Another
thing you may wonder about is if being a psychologist means that
you easily become overanalyzing as a private person. Håkan
thinks this is not the case. I think most people want to have
their time off. But if someone should ask for advice, of course
you want to help if you can. In other words, he does not think
that people in the surrounding have to be involuntarily analyzed.
It may perhaps be like that in the beginning, when you are
a student and sees it a a study technique, but this behavior soon
subsides, finishes Håkan.
