Patients and controls
 A
number of clinical projects have been designed and initiated to
recruit and examine patients and healthy controls.
About 50% of the patients in the psychiatric
register in Stockholm county will participate in the study, together
with healthy controls. A sample of about 600 families with two siblings
affected with schizophrenia is investigated to identify and clone
risk genes.
The subjects are all undergoing clinical
characterization, DNA collection for genetic analysis, screening
for obstetric complications, examination for neurological abnormality,
minor physical anomalies and MRI investigation of the brain.
