Information about Brain Donation

A patient/donor information booklet explaining
our methodology and aims with human post mortem brain research is
currently being worked on.
This booklet contains information about how to make a brain donation
and the importance of informing ones next-of-kin of ones intention.
As the quality of brain tissue is of crucial importance for getting
reliable data, we can only collect brain tissue from donors within
24 hours after death, which strikes the value of informing ones
relatives.
No brain tissue is used without a written consent from the donor
or his/her relatives.
This booklet will be available through patient associations, in
psychiatry wards and on our homepage.
