Brief description of present research:
Presently engaged in the HUBIN Obstetric complications project. The aim of the project is to study the relation between environmental factors and trauma during neurodevelopment and later psychotic disease. Data is collected from medical records on obstetric complications and environmental factors in the gestational and early childhood periods on a group of schizophrenic patients and matched controls in the Stockholm county. Analysis of the data will be done together with clinical and other biomedical data in adjacent HUBIN projects. The hope is that the results will contribute to a better understanding of the role of environmental factors in the ethiology of schizophrenia.
