British art
exhibition descibes the minds of the mentally ill (12/02/03)
A
current art exhibition in Great Britain shows art that is produced
to reflect the tortured state of mind in people that suffer from
mental illness. As one of the artists, Claire Sargent, describes
on of the paintings, "The picture is about how being on medication
affects the way you function and how other people see you. If people
know you have a mental illness, they are terrified, because the
one part of the body they do not want to lose control of is the
mind.''
