Is craziness next to godliness? That question is discussed in an article at www.globeandmail.com about a movie with the title "See Grace Fly". The film is about Grace, a schizophrenic 38-year-old woman in Vancouver, who has apparent prophetic powers.

A TV station in the UK dedicated to charities nationwide is preparing to run a series of pioneering programmes which discuss perceptions of mental health issues among the general audience.

Creative therapy (08/16/04)
"Brushes with Life" is an exhibit at the N.C. Museum of Art in Raleigh in the US. Most of the artists have schizophrenia or other psychiatric conditions. They all use art as therapy for their mental illness.

Schizophrenic filmmaker makes documentary about his illness (08/13/04)
John Cadigan, a 34-year old American artist, was recently diagnosed with schizophrenia. Now he reveals his inner thoughts and feelings about his illness in a documentary called "People Say I'm Crazy. The movie is produced by one of his siblings, filmmaker Katie Cadigan.

A new documentary about mental illness (05/01/04)
"People Say I'm Crazy" is a diarylike documentary that describes several years in the life of John Cadigan, a young man, who experienced his first psychosis as a 21-year-old art student. The movie just opened up in New York City.

To deal with her bizarre childhood, Virginia Holman, who now teaches at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, wrote a memoir,
"Rescuing Patty Hearst: Growing up Sane in a Decade Gone Mad", a straightforward look at schizophrenia, painted with love.

Album cover stops pop star's performance at NFL game (03/09/04)
JC Chasez, one of the members of boyband N'Sync, was recently asked to perform the national anthem during the halftime show at an American football game. The performance was however cancelled after the organizers became aware of the fact that Chasez' recently released solo album, called "SCHIZOPHRENIC" have a photo on the cover of the star himself dressed in a straight jacket. Schizophrenia advocates mean the cover does nothing to help eliminate the stigma of mental illness.

"The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" causes fury among Greek psychiatrists (01/31/04)
The remake of cult horror classic "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre," which tells the gruesome story of a serial killer, has infuriated Greek psychiatrists.
It's not the gore that upprör the doctors, but the film's Greek-language title: "The Schizophrenic Chainsaw Killer."
