ÅKE GÖRANSSON
- MASTER OF "FÄRGFORMEN"
As I entered the room I was possessed with
devotion, and I automatically lowered my voice. That is how Håkan
Wettre, curator at Gothenburg
Museum of Art, describes his encounter with Swedish artist Åke
Göransson's works of art, which had just been hanged for the
exhibition at the museum in the fall of 2002. Indoor pictures and
views in delicate shades of green and grayish blue, flower pieces
in shimmering poetic colors, and paintings in blazing red and purple
filled the walls.
The now ongoing exhibition with Åke
Göransson is arranged to celebrate the centennial of the artist's
birthday. The exhibition continues at Waldemarsudde
in Stockholm until March 16, and then moves to Malmö
Konstmuseum, where it goes on from March 30 until June 1, 2003.
