The HUBIN projects- a plan for optimization

McNeilAccording to McNeil, the best strategy for future research on the etiology and pathophysiology of schizophrenia is to study both hereditary factors and a wide spectrum of environmental factors in the same group of patients. The brain function and structure of these patients should also be characterized by state-of-the-art methods. The HUBIN projects offer such possibilities.

Since year 2000 McNeil is responsible for the HUBIN-consortium investigations of

  • Obstetric Complications together with dr Pontus Strålin,
  • Minor Physical Anomalies, and
  • Neurological Abnormality, Tardive Dyskinesia, Parkinsonism.

He is also developing a broader program for investigation of environmental factors in different HUBIN-samples.
