Weight gain

pizzaOne side effect of some antipsychotics is weight gain. When taking antipsychotic medication it is important also to keep an eye on the diet. The responsible doctor can assist by arrange a contact with nutritional counseling. Increasing physical activity and modifying the eating habits can help keep weight at a desirable level. If the weight gain still is a large problem, the doctor can consider changing the type of medication to an antipsychotic less likely to cause weight gain.
